Setting Your Room's Ratio Standard
Roles: Owner, Director
Ratio configuration lives on the Rooms page, as part of room management rather than inside Rounds itself.
Childcare Owl doesn't ship with a built-in ratio, because no single number would be correct everywhere. Staff-to-child ratio requirements vary by state, and some centers hold themselves to a standard stricter than their state's legal minimum anyway.
Each room can carry two independent standards, since most states enforce both. A per-staff ratio sets how many children per staff member, one adult per four infants, for example. A group-size standard sets a maximum group size paired with a minimum staff count for that group, checked separately from the per-staff math. These are alternatives, not a stacked requirement. A room only needs to satisfy whichever one applies to it. Some rooms only need one configured. Others need neither, if ratio tracking isn't relevant to that space.
Once a room's standard is set, every Round logged against it gets checked automatically, with no manual math required each time.
