Task Lists & Checklists

Understanding Missed Checklists

Roles: Owner, Director, Manager view missed-checklist alerts and history. Staff see their own completion history only.

Missed checklist tracking runs once a day, sweeping the last few days for any scheduled checklist left incomplete. It skips today deliberately, since today may still be in progress — a task isn't flagged as missed until the day it was due has fully passed.

Two different things can get flagged, and they carry different meanings. Incomplete means staff never finished the task, attributed to whoever was individually assigned if there was one. Signoff pending means staff finished the work, but a required manager signoff never happened, attributed to whoever's tagged as manager on that occurrence rather than the staff member who did the work — because in that case, the miss isn't theirs.

Three places surface this: a Dashboard alert for anything currently missed, the Reports Missed Checklists view for a filterable history, and a Missed column on the Staff Performance report and its PDF export.

Separating incomplete from signoff pending is what makes the attribution actually match reality. A staff member who did their job shouldn't carry the same flag as one who didn't, just because a manager fell behind on approvals.
