Setting Up Onboarding Milestones

Roles: Owner, Director

Milestone Settings is where the checklist itself gets defined — a policy decision, so it's Owner/Director only, separate from the day-to-day Milestones tab a Manager also uses to mark things complete.

There's no fixed system template here, on purpose — what a multi-room center wants to check at 30 days isn't the same as what a small home-based program needs. Add each milestone with a name, how many days after hire it's due, and which role should own running it (Owner, Director, or Manager). Optionally require a separate confirmation from a second person — useful for a check-in that should genuinely involve two people talking, not just one person clicking a button.

A milestone can't be edited once created. Changing its timing after staff are already partway through their onboarding window could silently shift due dates that already passed or were already communicated — archive it and add a replacement instead if you need to change something. Archiving doesn't touch any milestone already completed for an existing staff member; it just stops the milestone from applying to anyone new.

Every milestone needs a hire date on file to compute a due date. If a staff member doesn't have one yet, the Milestones tab prompts for it right there — nothing silently breaks or shows blank.
