Task Completion Audit Log

A task completion audit log is a permanent, timestamped record of who completed each task and when, plus any corrections made afterward — the documentation a center produces to show a licensor that required routines actually happened, not just that they were scheduled.

A checklist and a log answer different questions. The checklist says what should happen; the log says what did happen, by whom, and when. If a completion needs to be corrected later, a trustworthy log records the correction itself rather than silently overwriting the original entry.

In Childcare Owl, every task completion and every manager signoff is recorded automatically and retained permanently — filterable by date range, room, or staff member — and a correction to a past completion is logged as its own event instead of erasing what was originally recorded.
